Portilo – the innovative load carrying system from Westfalia
WESTFALIA-Automotive, one of the worlds leading producers of towbars, is extending its product portfolio with the load carrying system "Portilo". The system has already received several awards and is certified by the TÜV.
The basic unit of this transport system is the cycle carrier "Portilo" that can be folded to the size (58x22x69 cm (W/H/D)) of a trolley within seconds and without tools – which makes the "Portilo" the most compact cycle carrier in the market that can be stowed in any boot. It allows for the transport of two cycles, and with the extension rail, three cycles. The max. payload is 60 kg., which even makes it suitable for transporting heavy electric cycles. The swivel-down mechanism ensures easy access to the vehicles boot even with the cycles mounted and is suitable for use with almost all passenger car models. RRP: £349.00 incl. VAT
The "Portilo" can be used for more than just transporting cycles. Alternatively, the "PortiloBox" or the "PortiloPlatform" can be mounted on the basic carrier. And what is best about it: No tools are required. The "Portilo" cycle carrier can then be converted quickly into an additional boot or a loading platform at the rear of the vehicle. Its possible uses are numerous: Luggage, sports utensils, camping equipment, bottle crates, garden rubbish, building materials, or whatever else needs to be stowed or transported.
The watertight and washable "PortiloBox" has a volume of 200 litres and can carry a payload of up to 45 kg - the "PortiloPlatform" has a 54 kg. Load carrying capacity. Both the box and the platform are mounted in a deep position within the slipstream of the vehicle and are therefore fuel and CO2 efficient. This also makes loading easier. Both products can be locked directly and securely onto the "Portilo" protecting them against theft. The swivel-down mechanism ensures easy access to the boot.

Apart from the box and the platform, additional accessories available for the Portilo cycle carrier include a loading ramp, a wall mounting bracket for easy storage when not in use, an additional brake light, and a wing extension for particularly long cycles.
